some photos for a while back.. yup, as you can see later on, nick was still around.. so it must have been at least a month back.. time really really flies so fast.
and so, this was when we decided to catch the fireworks at Marina Bay.. it was damn bloody crowded everywhere. it was a pain just to walk through city link. human avalanche... BOOOOM!we finally settled down for some food at the not so nice xin wang hk cafe.. but it was just a huge relief to be able to plant your ass down, away from pple pancaking you.. :p
as you will notice from now on, the photos aren't tt good, cuz it such dark conditions, you really need a camera stand or just a DSLR so photos are not blurred or grainy. haha. so anw, this was where we were gonna be seated, and the wonderful view we get to enjoy.. :)
we were on the floating platform.. finally I get to go on the platform! haha
there were using blue lights to illuminate the place, thus the ghoulish tinge that is on everyone's face!
and finally, the fireworks burst into the sky after a whole bunch of crap from a really lousy MC. haha.
lynette and zm were just screaming non stop. i thought they were burst something..
and after tt, we got a call from ty to head over to the boat house, where a whole bunch of them were comfortably having dinner and watching from high high above.. yes, the high life!
but we get to do some photowhoring on the way there.. -.-"

HTC Touch HD
the screen is so huge.. 3.8" and an amazing 800x480 resolution. its better than some of those LCD monitors in the com lab!!!
further more it is fast fast fast.. 288MB of ram, 5 megapixel camera, fully featured connectivity etc etc.. this is just THE PHONE for me.. hahaha.
YES.. COME OUT SOON please!! the only thing tt might stop me is the WM7 phones, if they ever come out in the next year.. :D we shall see.. exciting stuff! :D

The Changing Country
hmmm, things in SG are being built quite fast!
just to update my friends overseas:
This Saturday, the full length of the KPE is opening!
Also, it appears that the IR is being constructed really quickly.. one Friday i drove by on the ECP, and as usual, the site only had cranes and the piling machines. Monday morning on my way to school, 5 mini buildings had popped up. I mean, obviously not with the windows and all, but a semblance of some building.. amazingly fast.
Yeah, and in preparation for the F1 race, lots more random things have popped up around. Seriously, like the continuous white lights around the roads that the cars will race through. various grand stands.. etc etc. the flood lights are really so bright.. it was like driving in the day even though it was so late at night.

Hello!
yes, finally, its time to blog again! :)
i am currently feeling very full - still, but am rather contented, hence i shall blog.. :)
so, i went to Hai Tien Lo today.. nice little place at Pan Pacific. as you can see, the view from the restaurant is unobstructed! and we were there, well, just before the sunset!ok, that was my dad looking through the menu very hard. in the end, he asked me to decide anyway -.-"
the tea my sis ordered. was so ex! but really good stuff i must say!
and the first course! MMMMMM... pan fried foie gras with peking duck skin! :D firstly, i really love duck, and secondly this was heavenly!
ok quite a gross picture. nothing like how it tastes.. but the crispy skin and the fatty liver is just.. :O
the next dish was garoupa in crab roe with crab meat. i love how the crab meat's taste is damn strong and tasty! it went really well with the fish!
and then, their signature HTL Hand Made Tofu or some other really long name. yes, its damn nice. the tofu is so soft inside, it wobbles like mad. yet the skin is just nice, crisp and fragant!
ostrich meat in some honey and pepper sauce. this one was unique, but i couldn't quite taste the ostrich meat though. the honey and pepper sauce was good, and the meat was really tender. but then again, after having ostrich meat on many occasions, i still dun know what it tastes like, so maybe its just a good medium to coat yr sauces on :p
and i was stuffed to the brim by the time my dessert came. ice cream in avocado cream. the avocado cream was absolutely thick and fresh.. the whole mixture just made u forget u were even full.. haha. didn't picture or taste my parents' desserts cuz i was too engrossed in my own! :(
and then my sister's came. it is lei sha tang yuan. yum! chewy tang yuan skin with peanut paste inside and nice flaky peanut coating... :) and it was nice and warm when it came, and when u bite into the inside and taste the warm filling, it is just OOH!
and the sun had set when we left to a satisfying meal :) OH, this reminds me. during dinner, i spotted this batman like light - it was this really bright spot light, and it was shining words on the buildings around, buildings such as the Swisshotel, Suntec City, Pan Pacific etc etc.. you know anything tall in tt area. and the words went "Beware the god." it was really strange, and it was coming from the plot of land opposite shaw, which i believe is government owned, but i might be wrong.
ok, damn lousy picture of the flyer and this golf course or what it is tt is beside the flyer.. damn a lot of super bright lights. lastly, i must commend the restaurant on the service. always smiling patient, and very helpful.. :)
and this was another mouth watering meal.. :D this was at Inagiku.. posh little jap restaurant, again with very good service. i had the Tokuju Chiraishi Sushi set during lunch. basically, its the chef's recommendation of sashimi for that day over sushi rice.. :) ok first, this was my starter, i have no idea what sauce it was.. but it was good.
this is their other speciality, tempura. apparently, the flour is specially imported from japan, but i am not a huge fan of tempura, and i didn't try it. haha
ok, here comes my chiraishi!! this picture can't do it justice! i swear. haha. u can't see the lovely colors and well, obviously, u wun know tt is damn fresh, which it is!! the uni, see tt lovely lump of brown next to the crab pincer, was so huge and just absolutely dissolves into your mouth. Mmmm. so good. ok, sadly, i dunno what fish i was eating. but there were 3 different types, and i suspect i have not really ate any of them before.. except maybe the light pink one which tastes like swordfish. but they were really so well sliced and are sooo fresh, i just gobbled them up. haha. then, there were japanese clams, buried under the fish i think, and a long slice of unagi. this unagi is seasoned v well. u can taste the flesh v well, unlike the usual terriyaki sauced kind, which i hate cuz u just taste terriyaki sauce.. and then, the huge ebi, which is rather different than the small shrimps we usually get. and yeah, the gigantic crab claw which is not as impressive as the rest, but probably would be excellent if i ate it on its own. haha.
and the rice itself was so good. little salmon bits mashed in.. see the pink stuff, and random other things.. jap pickled ginger maybe? and other really flavorful stuff!
yes, and then there was some clear soup with loads of seaweed like stuff inside and i forgot what else.. but yes, good stuff. haha. and to end off, fruits, and green tea chocolate. haha, this green tea chocolate is really good. green tea flavor pouring out, and creamy smooth chocolate to end of a wonderful experience.. :D

Singfest and Some Others.
such a nice and sunny day today. what a rarity these days. it just makes the view outside so much nicer, and everything outside my window looks so bright and cheery. and since my estate has many palm trees, it just gives it a tropical resort feel! but unfortunately, i am sick and i can't play tennis. such a pity.
-insert- i think i should spend my next weekend all couped up at home. the reason why i'm sick (though i think i am better now!), and so tired during sch is tt my whole weekend is just a mad rush from point to point. next weekend, i shall read a book (i have 5 at my bedside!), play my new games (i bought 3 xbox 360 games this week..), watch the US Open and of course read my textbook, and play some tennis. yes, basically, i need some time to REST!!
so anyway, this was from a long way back. maybe a month ago? its SINGFEST! this is a concert, which brings together multiple artists for an extended concert. in this cases it lasted from 3pm -1230am!!
we spent a good 12hours there, seeing tt we were kiasu and went early to queue up.. :pit was really sweltering hot at fort canning hill. the venue had no trees for some bizarre reason.
after 3h of waiting in the heat, we finally got to see the first act - Stacie Orrico. well, she was not bad, just tt i hardly knew any of her songs, except you know the 'Stuck on You' and 'There's Gotta be More to Life'. but yeah, she sang pretty well, and it was somewhat entertaining.. :)
next up was an artist from england. Jamie something i think, can't quite remember. when u are watching him, its pretty entertaining, but now a month later, i must say i can't quite remember anything about the performance anymore.. :/
next up, a huge fan favorite, One Republic. eh, i dunno what happened to the picture of their front man, i am pretty sure i uploaded it. yup, other than their 2 hit singles, Stop and Stare and Apologize, i didn't really know the other songs.. but yeah, they were pretty awesome.
i like this guy's shirt - its shows a funky picture of obama, and it says, "Progress". totally agree.
oh yeah, met joel and his girlfriend on the grounds!
it was damn bloody hot.. but as you can see, the sun has began to set. much to everyone's relief! but the humidity caused by 10000 people cramped in a really small space was certainly still very overwhelming.
i dunno what happened to my photos of Panic at the Disco, but they were a delight to watch! even though they had a mike malfunction, they continued to sing bravely. their performance was absolutely full of energy and excitment, really infectious!and finally, the person i had been waiting for - JASON MRAZ!! and boy, he didn't disappoint. i felt his perfomance was definitely top 2, either him of Alicia had the best performance of the night. He was so interactive and engaging, and his songs were brought alive through the clever use of the various instruments. it was so good, it was better than his album recording! fantastic stuff.
and it helped tt i've listened to his album quite a few times i recognize all of the songs. haha.
the most memorable song was probably I'm Yours. yes, everyone just burst into the song when he started singing. but a pity he didn't sing "Lucky".. would've been great to hear him perform tt sweet lil number. the other crowd pleaser which everyone knew was "The Remedy" of course :) sing it! "I~~~~~, I won't worry my life away, ayyyy ohhh~~~~!!!" x2 :)))
after jason, was some oldies singer, richard or richie something.. he sang many good old mambo tunes, which i actually recognized! but he is seriously so old, he really had the guts to come out and perform for such a young crowd! but the crowd was quite amusing, some actually gave him bras.. he got quite a few. haha. damn amusing!
after tt little breather, came pussy cat dolls. not a tremendous fan of them, well cuz i feel tt they can't really sing live, but seemingly, everyone else was so into them! well, they sure put up a good performance, with their v well rehearsed dance routines, and great presentation. but really, nothing much musically there. definitely no comparison to alicia or jason.. :pbut yes, definitely, the hottest performers on stage. they looked spanking good, and yeah, just oozing sexiness. and apparently they'll head back here to perform! so we shall see what happens.
to close the show, was the one and only alicia keys. arguably the most accomplished of them all. had it been anyone else, i doubt the crowd would've stayed till 1230am on a sunday.
and she really made it into her mini concert. whilst most singers sang 5-8 songs, she did about 15 i reckon! but they were fabulous. her musical talent is evident from what she does, what she sings and the instruments she plays. the way she improvises, the way she tries to vary what we hear so it doesn't sound the same as the album version, its phenomenal :)yes, and she was definitely feeling v hot. dripping in sweat! haha
but really, a smashing close to a wonderful event. the highlight for me has probably gotta be not using the toilet from 9am to 1230am. i was dying.......................... i felt like my kidneys were dilating and i was feeling dizzy and slightly nauseous. i dunno what possessed me not to have left for the toilet. i think it was just the insanely long queues and the crazy crowd everywhere. so tt's tt.. haha.
